Its my birthday!....time to start a blog....again.

Today I turn 23.

23 is a pretty lame number and usually I am one of those people that spends weeks planning for fun birthday festivities to celebrate me. This year, however, between moving into a new apartment with M, working up in Saint Denis teaching the kids English, babysitting and baking cupcakes, my birthday kind of just creeped up on me!

Today is a Sunday though, and Sundays are probably my favorite day of the week. (now that I am out of school at least and don't have 500 pages to read and papers to write!) Sundays are fabulous because they are the perfect day for brunch! Brunch is an obsession of mine and the french seem to really be hyping up about it these days! I tried out Coffee Parisien today with M and the rents and some out of town friends for a birthday brunch and had a great time! Coffee Parisien is kind of a classier, more pleasant alternative to Breakfast In America which I have worshiped for quite a while for their free refills on crappy American coffee, bagels and HUGE servings of pancakes and french toast. Anyways, even thought it was just as packed as BIA, it was a great place for brunch! Serious lox and cream cheese, NYC style, and my mom had raspberry pancakes that were to die for.

As a now 23-year-old living in Paris, I thought that I should blog about my Parisian/American in Paris adventures. I tried starting a blog last year in NYC but I had nothing to write about so that faded pretty quickly. Now that I have moved back to Paris after 4 years at NYU, my life seems to be much more interesting! When I am not crazily busy with my various jobs that allow me to make a living in this amazing city I spend exploring Paris - cafes, bars, parks...anything and everything! Living in Paris as an American is not an easy feat, as many I'm sure are aware of, but on sunny days walking around Jardin du Luxembourg or just down any street looking at the perfect buildings, I am reminded why I am here, and why I would not want to be anywhere else!
