Cold-and-rainy-but-oh-so-cupcake-fabulous London!

I popped over to good 'ole London town this past weekend to visit two of the biggest loves of my life (part of the once very fabulous S-Crew from the old Paris days!) and to do a great deal of cupcake reconnaissance tasting work!

Friday night I brought a Cup and Cake sampling of chocolate/chocolate cupcakes for a chocolate themed birthday fete which was followed by many (thankfully non-chocolate) cupcakes from Primrose Bakery in Covent Garden and Hummingbird Bakery on Portobello Rd.

Primrose cupcakes were just so beautiful and their quaint little shop was so cozy and comforting! Very much along the lines of Cup and Cake!!




Hummingbird was a bit of a disappointment with their apparently "famous" red velvet cupcake - although the atmosphere was fun and festive and absolutely adorable, I felt their cake had very little flavor! Maybe next time I'll try a different flavor?


In between cupcaking we were greeted by a large slew of beer-drinking santa's who were on a santa-themed bar crawl at roughly 11 am...gotta love London!
